What if we nacho’d it?
The Totally Nachrageous Family Nacho Lab is a colorful, interactive family program hosted by cookbook author and media personality Alex P. Taylor.
Designed primarily for children ages 6–12 and their families, the experience brings together food, creativity, storytelling, imagination, and hands-on participation. Kids are encouraged to look at familiar foods in completely new ways, dream up their own wild nacho creations, explore some of the most playful recipes from Totally Nachrageous, and discover just how far one simple question can take an idea.
Programs can include interactive food brainstorming, “What Would You Nacho?” activities, cookbook show-and-tell, no-bake dessert nacho experiences, holiday inspired nachos, author Q&A, meet-and-greets, and book signings.
The Family Nacho Lab can be adapted for bookstores, libraries, children’s museums, community organizations, festivals, camps, grocery stores, and other family-focused events.

What happens when you take one idea seriously enough to see where it can go?
From Big Idea to Big Nacho is an interactive school and enrichment program hosted by author and media personality Alex P. Taylor.
Using the real story behind Totally Nachrageous as the framework, Alex shows students how a simple idea can grow through creativity, persistence, experimentation, storytelling, collaboration, and a lot of hard work into something real.
The program goes beyond the cookbook itself to explore how ideas are developed, how books get made, what happens when something does not work the first time, and how creativity can open unexpected doors. For younger students, the experience can focus on imagination, storytelling, trying new ideas, making mistakes, persistence, and what it takes to become an author.
For older students, the program can expand into entrepreneurship, publishing, media, branding, content creation, marketing, networking, and building a career around your interests and ideas.
Interactive elements can include creative brainstorming, inventing an original concept, developing a name or tagline, thinking about audience, and even pitching an idea to the room.
From Big Idea to Big Nacho can be adapted for elementary schools, middle schools, libraries, youth organizations, career days, entrepreneurship programs, and other educational settings. Interested in bringing From Big Idea to Big Nacho to your students or organization?

These kid friendly, no bake nachos are the perfect weekend activity for you and the kiddos or the big kiddos. It’s a fun and super easy dessert. Feel free to add your favorite toppings. These nachos were a special collaboration with Finn from Foods with Finn on Instagram. Thanks Tiff for hosting the best Sunday Funday ever!
1 box original graham crackers
1 cup animal crackers
1 apple, cored and thinly sliced (Cosmic Crisp is a fav)
5 thinly sliced strawberries
10 fudge stripe cookies
1 ½ cups mini marshmallows
½ cup trail mix (we used mini chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and coconut)
1 cup Lucky Charms- Finn’s fav (Use your fav!)
1 package prepared vanilla pudding
1 package prepared pistachio pudding
1 small tub of Cool Whip
¼ cup rainbow sprinkles (or more if you like)

To go along with your Saturday Morning Nachos, I highly recommend making these as well. Just another fun Brunch activity that will be the perfect sweet ending to your gathering. Get the kids involved in making these. It will be a super breeze with this sheet pan pancake. We’ll be using triangle cookie cutters for this one to mimic tortilla triangles. You could also add blueberries, strawberries or chocolate chips to your pancake mix if you are not a fan of apples and cinnamon. Either way, enjoy your day off!
Takes about 25 minutes
Sheet Pan Pancakes:
4 cups Bisquick pancake mix
4 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 large apple (I recommend Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
Icing:
1 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted (sift after measuring)
2–3 Tablespoons milk or heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Whisk the confectioners’ sugar, 2 Tablespoons milk or heavy cream, and vanilla extract together. Add another Tablespoon of milk or heavy cream to thin out if necessary. For thicker icing, add a little more confectioners’ sugar. If not using right away, cover and store icing in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Saturday mornings were always so much fun when I was a kid. Cartoons, your favorite cereal and no school! Now that I’m older, I feel the same way when I make nachos for breakfast. They are also perfect when you are having a brunch party. They pair really nicely with a mimosa or two as well! I went with blue corn tortilla chips inspired by a popular 80's cartoon. Can you guess which one? Cheers to the weekend! May that Saturday morning feeling last forever in our minds.
